Our hope is to reproduce ourselves in the image of Christ by providing for the social and spiritual needs of our city and global community as well as being a church planting movement. We do all this to impact our world with the love and grace of Christ that we have so graciously come to know.
The Plan - OUR HEART:
We all have a role to play, we all are "missionaries"...at our jobs, in our neighbourhoods, to our city, to our friends, to our family, and around the world. Our plan is to
Open Our Heart...to raise awareness on how we can all take part in "missions" - in our community and around the world. We are building relationships with "missionaries" globally and locally (people like you and I), supporting THE "Church" and our efforts to redeem its beauty to the world once again, and also focusing on the many ever present needs within our own community.
This is
Our Heart. Loving God and loving others. Being a church in the city we have the potential to tap into to some great opportunities that exist right at our doorstep. We are working at opening our eyes to these opportunities; helping you, the "Church", to get involved in different projects; and encouraging people to dream about how they can actively show the love of God in their mission field...wherever that may be.
Our World:
City Centre Church is all Over the World...
We have the pleasure of supporting many people from within our community as they follow the calling on their lives, wherever it takes them.
We are in Romania with
Kevin and Angie Weigelt and their family helping them re-introduce people to our loving God.
We are in the Dominican Republic and Haiti with
Filter Pure as they strive to bring clean water to people who are in desperate need.
We are working with
Hands at Work in Africa to continue building a hope and future in Christ.
We are with Courtney Mueller as she interns in Peru.
We are even more than these...with people seemingly going out to follow their call all the time. We are wanting more than to touch our city, but we hope we can help touch our world with the love of God...and "where we are" is still growing...
Our City:
City Centre Church is Edmonton...
We believe that we need to live our faith here at home, with our neighbours, in our community, with those we love, and with those we don't know. We hope to see our City changed with the hope that flows from our church, and the people/groups we are apart of. We are a part of
The Mustard Seed and the work they are doing in our inner city. We are a part of the
Hope Mission and the lives who are changed through all the good things they do. We are a part of the
Dream Centre and helping them in their journeying with women through some rough roads. We are a part of the
Pregnancy Care Centre and their work in providing pregnancy care, support and education to those who are facing an unexpected pregnancy or experiencing post-abortion stress. We are a part of
Big Brothers and Big Sisters and their goal of getting people to volunteer their time to help make a difference in a child's life. We are
The Lobby,
a place where people can feel love while getting something good to eat Sunday evenings. We are at the University of Alberta with Roxxane Koop (
Athletes in Action) and with the
Epic Student Church plant.
We would encourage you to check these out (or any other organization that is "doing good") and see where and how you can get involved in bringing the hope and love of Jesus to our city.
Our Church:City Centre Church is People...
We believe that relationships and serving are what really move things forward. We believe that there are
many different aspects of our church and many different ways to
get involved, which help to keep us moving, growing, welcoming, and loving. Whether it be with getting together and creating
art in community, or our
art show where people put on display the creativeness of our loving God, or our
children's ministry where people willingly give their time to care and nurture the kids we come in contact with, or our
worship ministry where we come together as a community and worship God, or our
coffee ministry where people serve to make our Sunday mornings a little more comfortable and allow us an opportunity to get to know one another better... Whatever it may be, it is moved forward by people who have been moved by the love of God and who are learning just how to show that love in / through our church.
