About The Church

The CCC Beginning

For nine months God formed our leadership team, and gave us the desire to plant a church in Edmonton that would multiply itself by raising up leaders and releasing many of them to plant other churches in the years ahead. We felt that it was necessary to state from the very beginning that we would with God's help and grace start the second church no later than three years from September 12, 2004, the start date of City Centre Church.

God pulled together 11 people with the same heart and vision that are now seeing the dream move into reality. We believe there is a strong direction from God to put leaders into the community from our church. The three initial groups of focus are: university and college students, urban professionals and young families. This continues to grow and change with every year but of course, everyone is welcome with open arms.

A REAL Faith

At City Centre Church, we keep it simple. We keep it REAL.

So, what does it mean to be real?

Relational - We are more concerned with relationships than religion. Relationships with friends and a relationship with a living God.

Equipping - God made you for a special purpose, and we want to help you discover what it is and become excellent at it.

Accountable - A spiritual journey can be tough, but it doesn't have to be taken alone.

Life-Giving - We believe you will find something so valuable that you will want to share it with others.

We give God all the glory

We purpose within our hearts to give God all the glory for everything that He is doing presently among us and for all He will continue to do in the future.

City Centre at the Paramount

In July 2006, City Centre Church moved from the Telus Centre on the University of Alberta campus to the Paramount Theatre on Jasper Avenue. The move has change and strengthen out ties with the community. Click here to see an excellent article by Lawrence Herzog about the history of the Paramount Theatre.
